Town of Ellsworth residents can use the Town Transfer Station for garbage, recycling, scrap metal, and clean wood or brush disposal.

The site may close during inclement weather, including blizzard conditions or windy, drifting snow.
What You Can Drop Off
Garbage / Waste
Dumpsters are available for household garbage and waste at the Town Transfer Station. Garbage must be in official Town garbage bags.
Recycling
Recycling containers are available at the Transfer Station on Saturdays only. Please follow the Pierce County Recycling Guide.
Iron, Steel & Metals
Iron, steel, and other metals may be placed in the designated metal bin.
Clean Wood & Brush
Clean wood and brush may be left at the burn site. Treated or painted wood is not accepted.
Items Not Accepted
The Town of Ellsworth Transfer Station does not accept the following items:
- Appliances, water heaters, or air conditioners
- Furniture
- Televisions, computers, or other electronics
- Tires
- Hazardous waste, pesticides, wet paint, or motor oil
- Lead batteries or antifreeze
- Infectious waste or poisonous gases

County Solid Waste Fee
The $25 County Solid Waste fee shown on Town tax statements goes directly to Pierce County.
Before You Go
- Garbage and waste disposal is for Town of Ellsworth residents only.
- All garbage must be placed in official Town garbage bags.
- Town garbage bags are $5 each and are available from the Transfer Station attendant or at Nilssen's Foods.
- Residents disposing of garbage will be asked to sign in with name, address, and number of bags.
